Mail Associate (Mail Room Clerk)
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Mail Associate to support daily mailroom operations in Boulder, Colorado. This Contract position involves managing the distribution and delivery of mail and packages while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Responsibilities: • Sort incoming mail and packages, including USPS, FedEx, and other special deliveries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Deliver mail and packages to departments, individuals, or designated drop-off points, including handling urgent or rush items. • Process outgoing mail by preparing and stamping items using postage equipment according to established policies. • Prepare certified, registered, insured, and other specialized mailings as required. • Collect outgoing mail from designated areas and ensure timely dispatch. • Maintain accurate logs and records of all incoming and outgoing mail to ensure proper tracking. • Handle sensitive and confidential documents with discretion and professionalism. • Train new team members on mailroom procedures and organizational policies. • Communicate effectively with managers and clients regarding deadlines, issues, or special requests. • Lift and transport packages weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and perform duties while standing for extended periods. Requirements • Experience in mailroom operations or administrative support roles. • Familiarity with mail distribution processes, postage equipment, and courier services. • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and prioritize tasks. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records. • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for long periods. • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, managers, and clients. • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism. • Knowledge of USPS regulations and policies is preferred.
