Tasks:
The Lead position will be at the Magee Feed Mill. This position will serve as the liaison between the Manager and Team Members to ensure all directions by the Manager are understood and carried out in a timely manner when performing all feed mill maintenance functions. Position reports to Feed Mill Manager. Must be willing to report to work promptly and regularly. Must be willing to take directions from management and work well with others and delegate duties accordingly with a desire to achieve and set goals. Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately; react to change productively and handle all other tasks as assigned. Must be willing to comply with Tyson’s Preventative Maintenance Program. Must be willing to perform preventative maintenance and repair on all feed mill equipment. Must be willing to train new hires or any team members requiring re-training. This position will use good oral and written communication skills in order to read and communicate instructions for repairs/installations, and to effectively communicate any issues/problems to the Manager. Must be willing to monitor spare parts inventory control and procurement weekly. Must be willing to maintain minimal downtime and understanding the standards and crewing for the maintenance department. Must be willing to maintain all records as required by Tyson and/or other regulatory agencies. Must be willing to maintain full knowledge of and comply with all Tyson and/or other agency safety, electrical, hot work, environmental, lockout/tag out, forklift operation, railcar mover operation, boiler operation, and all other policies and/or procedures.
Requirements:
This position will work Monday through Friday 7am – 3pm. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must possess 7 years of industrial or related maintenance work experience which includes basic industrial electrical trouble shooting and repair, mechanical/power transmission equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Must possess welding, burning, and metal repair and fabrication skills. Must possess intermediate computer skills which include proficiency in windows-based programs such as Word and Excel. Must be willing to pass Tyson Forklift Training Test within 30 days. Must be willing to climb vertical ladders in excess of 100ft. Must be willing to lift up to 100lbs. (equipment, bags of ingredients, and etc.) Must be willing to bend, stoop, and stand on hard surfaces for the duration of the shift. Must be willing to work on elevated platforms and lift equipment up to 30 feet above ground level. Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the last two years to exclude D.U.I. (Driving Under the Influence) conviction on his/her Motor Vehicle Record. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a company license. Must be willing to accommodate shift start changes and will be subject to after hour call-ins. A response time of 30 minutes or less is preferred. Must reside within a 30-mile radius of the facility. Must be willing to wear all required PPE’s to include particle mask and ear plugs. Must be willing to work in inclement weather conditions which include working indoors in a hot non-toxic airborne dusty environment and exposure to outside weather conditions.
