POSITION SUMMARY
The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to manufacture precision metal parts and components. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to interpret blueprints, and attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy in all machined parts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSMachine Operation: Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.Precision Machining: Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy.Tooling & Setup: Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and workpieces for machining operations.Quality Control: Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure all parts meet specifications and tolerances.Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety regulations, including proper machine guarding and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, machine settings, and inspection results.Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred.Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a machining environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.Strong understanding of machine shop mathematics and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Experience with CNC programming (G-code) is a plus.Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.Knowledge of welding and fabrication is a plus.
