Role Summary
To operate conventional lathe and milling machines for precision machining of components as per engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules, ensuring safe work practices at all times.Key Responsibilities
1. Machine OperationSet up and operate conventional lathes and milling machines as per job requirements.Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions.Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for different materials.2. Quality ControlInspect machined components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators.Ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.Record inspection results and maintain proper documentation.3. Maintenance & HousekeepingPerform routine preventive maintenance on machines and tools.Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.4. Safety ComplianceFollow all safety guidelines, including PPE usage and safe machine operation.Report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.5. Education: ITI Turner / ITI Machinist OR completion of a full-term apprenticeship.Experience: ITI with apprenticeship completion can apply.2–5 years of experience in conventional lathe and milling operations is preferred.Preferred Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and material properties.Candidate can read and speak Kannada.Ability to read engineering drawings.Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards.Physical & Work RequirementsAbility to stand for long periods.Willingness to work in all 3 shifts as required and 6 days office.
