As a Machinist, you will be trusted to work on medical devices design engineering (Life Sciences) work includes: applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles to develop medical devices that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. This role is onsite in our Belmont, CA location and a typical day will include:

Producing small scale prototype components and developing specialized toolsPrecision machining (sub 0.010mm tolerance holding)CNC CAM programming (lathe and mill)Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe working environment

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English2 Years of Relevant ExperienceExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Surfcam software, or similar software such as MasterCAM, DelCAMFamiliarity with Solidworks CAD and PDM revision control.Familiarity with additive manufacturing processesSkilled in temperature-controlled machining techniquesExperience in Sinker EDM machiningExperience in plastic injection mold makingExperience in 5 axis CAM programming
