THE POSITION
Hoosier Racing Tire in Plymouth, IN, is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team. This role will be responsible for operating (CNC) machine tools, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-precision parts. The machinist will play a key role in fabricating new components for machinery as well as repairing and restoring existing parts, tools, and instruments to support ongoing manufacturing and maintenance operations.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
+ Lead Equipment Projects: Drive planning and execution of equipment and facility projects including upgrades, overhauls, and new installations, ensuring alignment with reliability and maintainability standards.
+ Standardization & Vendor Optimization: Collaborate with Plant Engineering to streamline components and reduce vendor base by standardizing parts and sourcing the best quality at optimal pricing.
+ Documentation & Database Management: Maintain and organize technical documentation, equipment files, and drawing databases, ensuring updates are reflected in the Plant Engineering Vault and CMM database.
+ Machining & Tooling: Design, build, and operate machine tools and general-purpose fixtures to support production needs, using advanced machining skills, precision measurements, and various metals.
+ Support, Training & Compliance: Train staff on new tooling, troubleshoot production machinery issues, and uphold all safety and quality standards.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
+ High school diploma or GED; technical training or CNC coursework preferred.
+ 5+ years of CNC machine operation experience (lathes, mills, multi-axis).
+ Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; knowledge of GD&T.
+ Proficient in basic math and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
+ Familiarity with CNC programming or G-code; able to make basic edits.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
