Machining Project Estimator Vancouver, WA (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2903+NE+109th+Ave.+Vancouver+WA+USA+98682) Job Type Full-time Description The Machining Project Estimator is responsible for interfacing with customers, evaluating project requirements, preparing detailed proposals, and supporting the sales process through to close. This role serves as a key point of contact for both clients and internal teams, with a strong focus on accurate and timely project quoting and estimating. Requirements Project Quoting & Estimating + Gather comprehensive technical information from customers to develop accurate quotes + Formulate detailed cost estimates including labor, travel, freight, materials, and consumables + Work with subject matter experts to determine appropriate technical solutions and methodologies + Prepare formal written proposals including technical approach, pricing, and timeline + Review and revise proposals based on customer feedback + Follow up with customers to secure purchase orders Customer Interface + Qualify prospective customers and evaluate project requirements + Identify equipment specifications, surface finish requirements, tolerances, and technical parameters + Determine environmental conditions and physical constraints that may impact project execution + Serve as the primary communication point throughout project lifecycle + Provide continuous updates to customers on project progress Project Management + Communicate project details to internal teams (Engineering, Technical Process Managers, Technicians) + Coordinate scheduling with customers and internal resources + Update pricing estimates in real-time based on field conditions or scope changes + Facilitate project close-out and invoice review Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred; 2-year technical degree required + 3-5 years of progressive experience in a related role + Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings + Experience in mechanical or machining environment preferred + Project management experience preferred + Proficient with Microsoft Office suite + Strong communication and interpersonal skills Physical Requirements & Work Environment + Office and shop environment with occasional site visits + Travel up to 20% (domestic and international) + Valid driver's license required + OSHA 10 certification required The above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the occupation described and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the occupation.
