Responsible for the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products. May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks. Maintains a safe work area and may train apprentices in the trade.• Read / review / understand job order
• Identify, move and position raw materials / parts for process
• Set up, line up and operate sub arc welder, hemi welder, and arc air gouger
• Examine, repair, replace weld
• Use power tools to remove slag and clean weld
• Load / remove flux
• Operate fork truck and lift truck
• Work overtime and alternate shifts as requested.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area
• Use computer
• Attend meetings
• Employee must: be reliable and punctual at work
• Strictly adhere to safety standards
• Comply with designated PPE
• Support quality projects and company initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned.
