Machine Technician / 1st Shift
Job Description

 Operates and setups of conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose, machines and machining centers to machine metal components by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area. Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety. Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes and quality guidelines. Must be able to operate multiple machines and perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities as required and have experience working with automation (Robotics). Verify that machine is running at proper cycle time. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Diagnose and rectify normal problems on machines and verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. Responds with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers. Promotes quality and continuous improvement philosophy. Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performance. Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance. Apply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources. Demonstrates flexibility in approach and ideas, responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignments. Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships and communications with all employees, participating effectively as a team member or as a team leader. Encourages and assists in self-improvement. Possess appropriate personal tools as required. Confers with and instructs other classifications in care and use of machines, equipment, and techniques required. Background and Skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma/GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, chemicals or risk of electrical shock.
