Key Accountabilities:
The following are essential duties and responsibilities for this position of machine specific (i.e. Labeller, Filler, Depalletizer, Mead, Kayat, Palletizer, Harkness, etc.) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies:
Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots and seatbelts while operating forklifts) Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements. Must have an in-depth, operational knowledge of the machine being operated and other related equipment. Must always abide to company rules, regulations and policies. (See Company Rules & Regulations) Coordinate the scheduled production runs and directing the machine operators to ensure production accuracy and efficiency. This includes the execution of flavour and package change-over, liaising with the Q.A. Technician to ensure accuracy in date codes of primary and secondary packaging, as well as UPC labeling when required. Responsible for tracking and recording the total cases produced for each production run and any corresponding down times, to track line performance and efficiency. Responsible for tracking and recording all alcohol volume metered and produced to accurately account for all volume batched and all losses that may occur on the line. (SOP-PRQ-014 and BF-PR-021). Direct the Utility and Operators as required, ensuring line performance optimization. Provide training under the direction of the Trainer, to machine operators as required. Coordinate with maintenance on PM’s or issues of a mechanical or electrical nature. Verbally inform Syrup batchers the tank and flavour to be hooked up as per the production schedule. Must accurately complete Lead hand Report (BF-PR-010), collect all operators’ report and place it on the designated filing tray at the end of the shift. Must complete Alcohol Reconciliation Report (BF-PR-021), the Raw Material Verification Report (BF-PR-023) and the First 20 Case Inspection Report (BF-PR-032) when applicable.Skills/Qualifications:
Experience in a fast moving packaged goods environment, beverage production experience preferred Good interpersonal & communication skills, both written and verbal Solid understanding of production machinery/forklifts, including an awareness of technical issues Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure Formal training in areas such as WHIMIS, HACCP, Hygiene etc. preferred Forklift certification may be required
Education and Experience:
High School Certification 3-5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
Working Conditions:
Physical-Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight. Visual/Sensory-This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time. Work environment- Work and environment are very repetitive. Mental Stress- There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
