At our Ravenna production facility, we extrude non-latex polymer hoses and tubing for the aviation, construction, manufacturing, and energy sectors. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Braider Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for all setup, operations, and quality of the braider line operations. Your primary duties will include setting up and operating specialized machinery that processes hydraulic hoses. You will feed hydraulic hole into a machine that covers the exterior with a specialized adhesive and automatically weaves an abrasion resistant yarn over the hose. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will monitor the braiding process to ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications. The role requires a self-motivated individual who is attentive and able to work effectively as part of a team. Given the complexity of the equipment and processes involved, a keen focus on minimizing setup time and reducing scrap is essential to maintain efficiency and product quality. Responsibilities: + Make complete line setups on jobs from charts and specifications. + Operate line, maintaining proper speeds, adjustments, etc., to ensure a quality product and production rates. + Perform continuous inspections of product both visual as well as using micrometers and calipers. Record product and process parameters. + Perform repairs to equipment, assist others in maintenance when major repairs are required to any equipment on assigned line. + Complete all necessary records, reports, etc., as required, giving particular attention to proper part number, job number and quantity per pallet or reel. + Package product according to instructions to include the making of cartons and spools as required. + Assemble packaging materials as required by Job Sheet. + Perform work of an equal or lower classification as required. Qualifications: + High school diploma or GED + Must be able to read, write, understand English language + Add, subtract, and basic math operations. + Follow simple diagram and specific written instructions. + Our manufacturing roles do have some minimum physical requirements; standing for 8+ hours, ability to wear PPE (safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves), repetitive motions including use of hands to bend tubing & connect hose assemblies, sorting items by size shape and color, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and lifting, up to 45 pounds.
