Job Purpose
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Extrusion Machine Operator to set up and operate extrusion equipment in alignment with company quality and safety standards. This position plays a vital role in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and upholding a clean and safe work environment.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Setup and Startup:
+ Prepare and execute equipment setup and startup following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Read production schedules and order packets to prepare necessary materials and tools.
+ Assist setup operators during teardowns and setups.
+ Process Monitoring:
+ Monitor materials, equipment, and environmental conditions to identify and resolve any issues.
+ Ensure production runs meet quality standards throughout the process.
+ Equipment Operation and Control:
+ Operate machinery in accordance with SOPs, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
+ Perform inspections using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measurement tools.
+ Take corrective actions to maintain and improve product quality.
+ Compliance and Documentation:
+ Use systems such as M3 to report production data and maintain documentation (SOPs, Exhibits, etc.).
+ Ensure all processes align with customer specifications, ISO standards, and internal quality requirements.
+ Shutdown and Maintenance
+ Follow shutdown procedures per SOPs and coordinate with setup operators.
+ Conduct general preventive maintenance and participate in 6S housekeeping activities.
+ Additional Duties:
+ Operate forklifts or powered hand trucks to move materials and products.
+ Complete operator-level maintenance tasks.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Ability to read and comprehend technical documents (e.g., MSDS, SOPs, JSAs).
+ Mechanical aptitude and physical ability to perform duties, including heavy lifting.
+ Proficient in using measuring tools such as scales, calipers, and micrometers.
+ Forklift license (or ability to obtain one upon hire).
+ Strong commitment to workplace safety and the “injury-free” mindset.
+ Knowledge of raw materials, extrusion processes, quality control, and manufacturing flow.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Dependable and team-oriented.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
+ Willingness to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment.
