Job Description:
Set up, monitor, and maintain machinery for production according to internal product specifications and customer requirements.
Essential Functions:
Set up and monitor machines according to specifications on work orders.Analyze samples/data from the QA Lab and make adjustments in operation to maintain specificationsThe operator follows work instructions, procedures, written/verbal communication, special instructions, etc.Works on different types of equipment to carry out a particular phase of the production cycle as neededResponsible for routine machine maintenance and keeping the facility clean and orderlyFollow all safety rules regarding machine operation, guarding, PPE, LOTO, etc.Must have strong situational safety awareness in a high-speed manufacturing environmentMust work well with others in a collaborative environmentJob Requirements:
Must be able to read and write to follow work order instructions and record process dataBasic math skills to calculate and enter roll data on appropriate forms, material weight, read work instructions, monitors, etc.Must be capable of learning how to operate industrial machines.Must be able to work in a team environment and follow instructions.Must be able to learn troubleshooting machines, operation of controls, etc.Must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and consider the consequences of various actionsSufficient visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect rolls produced for defectsSituational awareness around moving equipment and machinery for safety purposesDemonstrate good job attendance and punctualityPrior industrial manufacturing experience preferredMust be able to read and use a standard measuring tape with precisionMust follow safety protocols, procedures, and wear PPE as requiredValid forklift training and certification may be requiredWork Conditions:
Work is typically performed indoors in a loud environment that is not climate-controlledRequires safety shoes, hearing and eye protectionMust be able to occasionally climb stairs and work elevations of more than 20 feet.Must be physically able to exert up to 60 pounds of push force and up to 80 pounds of pull force.Must be willing to work 12-hour, 4-week rotating work shifts in accordance with the attendance policyMust be willing to perform job functions following safety procedures and PPE requirementsMust be able to work in a non-smoking facilityMachines, Tools, Equipment
