ML Engineers team up with business stakeholders, data engineers, web developers, and data analysts to create technology solutions for Kiewit’s most pressing opportunities. Our staff leads AI development at Kiewit - we are looking for a ML engineer with a passion for training models, finding insights in data, doing the software development required to make it work, and continually improving their skills. **District Overview** Kiewit Data Services is a full-service design and execution department for data and analytics solutions. Our combined staff has expertise that spans web development, data engineering, data science, MLOps, and project management. We are a highly collaborative and relatively flat organization, with projects utilizing the full breadth and depth of currently available AI tools. Working closely with business units to gather requirements, we then ideate, and pitch innovative products. Our growing team seeks to maintain best-in-class technical expertise, focused on efficiently delivering high-quality machine learning models to the business. This position may offer relocation assistance. **Responsibilities** **Turn questions into prototypes** - Embed with business teams, frame problems, and spin up quick PoCs to prove feasibility. **Own the data flow** - Build & document pipelines that make data sources model-ready, and become the go-to expert on them. **Build the right models** - Pick approaches, craft features, test rigorously, and peer-review with fellow data scientists. **Ship & scale** - Wrap models in Python APIs, deploy via CI/CD, and integrate predictions into customer-facing apps. **Keep models honest** - Monitor drift and performance, retrain iteratively, and improve over time. **Make results stick** - Craft clear visuals, present to execs, and train stakeholders to use insights with confidence. **Qualifications** + Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or related field; with a demonstrated interest in data analysis.
