M&C and Midstream Europe Credit Manager

The role holder identifies sector and country trends associated with credit risk and supports business leaders on the course of the action, liaises with the country operational teams on credit questions and develops the organizational and people capability that will enable BP to continuously contend and excel in handling credit. As a subject matter expert, they also ensure sustainability of systems solutions.

In this role You will:

Owner of credit policy delivery for C&P within M&C ESA and also hosting for all of ESA geography; M&C, refining and midstreamHandling credit risk for this high-risk portfolio with unsecured exposure > $5billionEnsuring visibility of the risk in the M&C and FS&M Europe portfolio, through accurate risk assessment, timely reviews, and supervising risk between reviews.Very high interaction with the different businesses withing M&C and FS&M.Ensuring understanding and compliance of Group Credit Standard in M&C and FS&M Europe.SPA to deliver compliance of Group Credit Standard.Defines the European BP Credit Management Framework to support operations in Europe, ensuring of operability with Global Business Service Center. Leads European credit management process, cascading responsibilities within BP to ensure coverage and compliance of the Credit Risk Management framework.Supports the credit strategy for BP in Europe and applies this to support appropriate risk vs reward decision-making.Establishes the Europe Credit agenda with the support of Country Credit Managers to ensure that Credit Risk is handled in Europe in compliance with the Group Credit Policy and Group procedures and to meet business objectives. On behalf of the VP Finance, drives its implementation.Support Business teams to find solutions in sophisticated cases and in contracting mitigations.Requesting and supervising effective and enforceable mitigation where appropriate, by customer and portfolioCommunicating the portfolio credit risk to M&C and FS&M Finance VP monthly, ensuring all teams are compliant and operating within BP’s risk appetite. This includes, but not limited to; customer watchlisting, checking overdue items, over credit limits and bad debt reporting.Holder of a credit authority of 50 million US-Dollar.

What You will need to be successful:

Educated to a university degree level or equivalent experience in Accounting or FinanceProficiency in EnglishProfessional examinations or certificate in financial accounting (e.g. CINA/CPA/ACCA/CPA) desirable Experience of systems implementation on the Business side in a leading roleProven capability to work and network across different functionsMore than 5 years of confirmed experience in Credit Management and proven experience working in multicultural and geographically extended settings Ability to step in and lead in a crisis context   Strong analytical skills Good understanding of Business context, drivers and levers, of customer needs Works independently and can focus effort and prioritize work to deliver value
