Practice Details

Sanford Clinic Luverne is seeking BE/BC OB/GYN physician.
• Schedule – 3 days in clinic and 1 day in surgery per week
• Call - 1:3
• Clinic Volume – 12-16 pts per day
• Provide a full range of obstetric and gynecologic services to the region, to include the southwest region of Minnesota
• Average of 95-120 births annually
o 30-35% are c-sections
• Support from 7 - Family Practice physicians, 3- APPs and 1 – General Surgeon
• Robust hospital surgical department five days a week
• Additional support from Behavioral Health Counselor, Integrated Health Therapist, RN care manager, Substance Use Counselors and Pharmacist
• Access to Reproductive Endocrinology w/IVF and Gyn Oncology physicians in the Sanford Health system
• Maternal Fetal Medicine support
• ER is staffed by Status Health and surgical emergencies would be handed by on call provider or transported to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD depending on severity

Luverne, MN (population 5000) is a progressive minded community located just 20 minutes from Sioux Falls, SD. Luverne has a wonderful atmosphere and sense of community. The diverse options for with a recently updated Luverne Area Aquatics and Fitness, along with hiking at the beautiful Blue Mound State Park, canoeing down the Rock River, relaxing and watching a movie at the Verne Drive-in, exploring the many parks, and enjoying a delicious meal at - JJ's Drive-In or Take 16 Brewery. The Historic Palace Theater, the Brandenburg Gallery, Herreid Museum, Hinkley House, and Historical Center few places to enjoy. There is also “The Lake” where one can enjoy your summertime days where you can fish, kayak, or just float around and swim. Job Description

Gynecologic Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, consult and provide pre-, intra- and postoperative care necessary to correct or treat female patients of all ages presenting with injuries and disorders of the female reproductive system and the genitourinary system and nonsurgical treatment disorders and injuries of the mammary glands.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree.

Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate competence and adequate volumes of experience to include 50 deliveries (including 5 cesarean sections) and 25 gynecological surgical procedures (if applicable to privileges requested) in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Successful completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)

Compensation

Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive compensation plan with an additional physician benefits package including a health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and a relocation allowance.

Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $339,965 - $439,955 plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.

Additional incentives may be offered. Actual compensation offers may vary and are determined based on multiple factors including education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice and actual job requirements.
