POSITION SUMMARY:
Cut lumber, build headers, stick frames and install lumber in panels in accordance with required specifications and quality standards. Assist other work stations on an “as needed” basis
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operate powered tooling (chop saw, table saw, reciprocating saw, lumber cutting machine, planer, nail guns, etc.) Accurately measure and cut lumber, plywood, OSB and EWP, to meet specifications Accurately install lumber, plywood, OSB and EWP in panels, to meet specifications Unload and inspect lumber to ensure compliance and maintain records as required Participate in accurate monthly inventory counts Transfer panels and other materials Perform quality control checks, ensure product meets specifications, and accurately record results Accurately complete daily records Perform machine adjustments and minor maintenance Operate forklift Carry out physical demands of the job Meet all safety requirements and regulations Ensure safe equipment operation Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Ensure a clean and orderly work environment Develop a flexible approach to a team environment Follow company policies and procedures Maintain production quotas Perform duties in other work stations as required Assist in new employee training
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Troubleshooting & problem solving Ability to work independently and in a team Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. frequently throughout an 8 hour shift Minimum 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment Effectively communicate in English Read tape measures (imperial and metric) Mechanically and technically inclined Trades math proficiency Minimum 1 year experience working with hand held power tools
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 Education
Valid Forklift operation certificate
