About the role.
The Lubrication Technician maintains lubrication of equipment to optimize its life and reduce unplanned downtime. In addition, this role is required to analyze lubrication needs specific to equipment. Manage and maintain inventory necessary to perform repair and maintenance associated with lubrication of equipment.
What you’ll be doing.
Ensure that all equipment is lubricated to meet NLGI standards/OEM specifications.Ensure all plant equipment is included in inspection and lubrication routes Diagnose bearing and wear surface failure and set action plans to correct failures.Maintain all gearboxes to operating levels and notify Millwright Lead of any leaking seals or excessive noise.Manage an inventory of filters and repair/spare parts utilizing the FIFO method.Maintain auto lubrication lines, including plumbing and inspection for damaged or leaking fittings.Maintain lubrication cabinets, tools, and equipment.Work with other millwrights, leads or supervisors who have priority work needing to be completed.Conduct preventative maintenance and repair and lubricate machines and equipment.Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.Maintain work equipment or machinery.Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the manager.Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.Time Management -- Managing one's own time and the time of others.Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.Create detailed notifications in SAP/Prometheus to guide the Planner in Work Order planningIdentify equipment discrepancies early so work can be planned and materials received before issues become breakdownsOther duties as required by the needs of the business.
What you’ll need to be successful.
Must have mechanical experience with lubrication programs in a manufacturing environment.Be able to read and understand blueprints, P&ID’s, equipment manuals and other relevant material.Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.Developing respectful constructive and cooperative working relationships with othersUsing hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Demonstrated understanding of basics of NLGI knowledge, how to tell the difference between basic lubricants and what they are used for according to NLGI standards.Possess or have the ability to pass Level 1 Machinery Lubricant Technician Exam (MLT I) or the Level 1 Machinery Lubrication Analyst Exam (MLA I) as provided by the international Council of Machinery Lubrication within one year.Knowledge of bearings, lubrication, and power transmission

Compensation Package: $41.27 CAD hourly
