LRTM TECH Moncks corner, SC Full Time Mid Level Share (https://seafoxboats.applytojob.com/app/share/SB58G3pdsF) Job Title: Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) TechnicianPosition Summary: The LRTM Technician is responsible for producing high-quality composite boat parts using the Light Resin Transfer Molding process. This role involves mold preparation, gel coating, fiberglass layup, resin infusion, demolding, and quality inspection to ensure finished parts meet company standards for strength, finish, and appearance. Key Responsibilities: + Mold Preparation: + Clean, wax, and inspect LRTM molds prior to production. + Apply release agents and verify mold integrity before layup. + Fiberglass Layup & Assembly: + Accurately cut and place dry reinforcement materials (fiberglass, core materials, etc.) into the mold. + Install inserts, vacuum seals, and other necessary hardware per work instructions. + Resin Infusion: + Assemble and secure the B-side (counter mold) of the LRTM tooling. + Set up and monitor vacuum systems, resin lines, and injection points. + Mix and inject resin according to specified ratios and process parameters. + Curing & Demolding: + Monitor the curing process and perform demolding once complete. + Inspect for defects such as voids, dry spots, or delamination. + Finishing & Inspection: + Trim, grind, and finish molded parts to specifications. + Perform quality checks and ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic standards. Qualifications: + Education: High school diploma or GED required. + Experience: + 1–2 years of experience in fiberglass or composite manufacturing preferred. + Experience with LRTM or vacuum infusion processes highly desirable. + Skills & Abilities: + Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work orders, and safety guidelines. + Familiarity with composite materials, resins, and vacuum systems. + Good attention to detail and manual dexterity. PHYSICAL DEMANDS + Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. + Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory. + Requires lifting, standing, kneeling, bending – getting in and out of boats up to 8 hours per day. + Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environments.
