Job Description I’m currently working with a leading international classification society to recruit a Naval Architect for their Plan Approval team based in Gdansk.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates from junior level upwards who are keen to develop their technical expertise in ship stability and plan approval processes.
The position is predominantly office-based, with a strong focus on reviewing and validating ship and equipment drawings, performing stability calculations, and ensuring compliance with relevant IMO and Class regulations.
You’ll work closely with an experienced NAPA engineer, so while prior NAPA experience is a plus, it’s not essential. What matters most is a strong motivation to learn and grow in a technically rigorous environment.
Key Responsibilities Review and validate ship design and equipment drawings against Class and statutory regulations Perform technical assessments related to marine structures and stability Support clients with technical advice and regulatory guidance Collaborate closely with senior engineers and international teams Participate in structured training and occasional travel within Poland and Northern Europe What I’m Looking For Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline Interest in ship design, stability, and regulatory compliance Fluency in English; knowledge of Polish or other languages is a plus Motivated, proactive, and eager to develop technical skills Prior experience with NAPA or similar software is advantageous
