Cleveland Clinic Akron Genera Kent Medical Office Building Rheumatology Department, has a team that works with patients to evaluate, diagnose and treat rheumatic diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis, vasculitis as well as conditions known as autoimmune disorders. Our board-certified rheumatologists and extended care providers will work closely with the patient and their primary care physician on developing a treatment plan helping to enhance patients' quality of life.
As an LPN on this team, you will use your extensive knowledge and expertise to assist with timely, effective and efficient care. In this role, you will train on the most advanced technologies alongside some of the best caregivers, offering an excellent way to develop insight into various techniques. This position provides the rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and to float to other CCF locations to receive hands on experience while providing excellent care to patients helping to ensure the best possible health outcomes. **A caregiver in this position works 8:00 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. with floating requirements**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, physician, optometrist and/or podiatrist, perform patient care activities and complete required documentation for patients of all ages.
+ Collect and document objective and subjective data and observations about the patient.
+ Contribute observations and health information to the nursing assessment and report all data to the RN or authorized directing health care provider.
+ Implement the current plan of nursing care at the direction of the RN, or the medication or treatment authorized by the authorized directing health care provider.
+ Document and verbally communicate the patient's response to the nursing plan of care, or the medication or treatment including observing patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and performing routine laboratory tests.
+ Contribute to the revision of the nursing plan of care
+ Provide education and information to patients and family members.
+ Maintain professional growth and development within nursing field.
+ Participate in the departmental orientation of new caregivers in a positive manner, share knowledge and experiences, and provide guidance when assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing
+ Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ One year of patient care experience
