The 4 West Tower Med/Surg Unit at Hillcrest Hospital sees a diverse patient population requiring medical, surgical and telemetry attention. As an LPN on this team you will use your nursing knowledge and skills to assist with timely, effective and efficient care. In this role, you will train on the most advanced technologies alongside some of the best caregivers, offering an excellent way to develop insight into various surgical techniques. Every day, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones, all while taking advantage of the countless professional and educational resources offered by Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:30AM.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Collect, document and report patient data and observations.  Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.  Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.    Perform routine laboratory tests. Educate patients and family members.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

One year of patient care experience Experience with IVs

Physical Requirements:

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.Involves extensive standing and walking.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
