FACILITY SUMMARY
Aultman Woodlawn offers short-term rehabilitation and transitional care for patients who need additional treatment after being hospitalized. Special indoor and outdoor therapy environments help reintroduce patients to homelike and community settings while preparing them for a realistic level of independence. Aultman’s Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation Program is a 60-bed intensive inpatient rehab unit. It focuses on, but not limited to patients recovering from neurological disorders, brain injury, hip fractures, stroke, burns, spinal cord injury, knee/hip replacements, and major multiple traumas. Aultman Inpatient Rehab is certified as a CARF Stroke Specialty Inpatient Rehabilitation Program for Adults.
LPN/ Licensed Practical Nurse Summary/ Purpose of Position
The primary purposes of the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) are to provide direct patient care, patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
LPN/ Licensed Practical Nurse Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing. Maintain current, active BLS certification through the American Heart Association. IV Certification preferred.LPN/ Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities

Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. LPN is a patient advocate in conjunction with the other members of the healthcare team and fosters patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and applicable policies. Adhere to professional standards and guidelines, including ethical actions, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, during nursing practice. Exhibits High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools and tones. Meal and break times are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage. Shifts are scheduled or changed due to the staffing needs of the unit/department based upon volume and acuity. Work weekends and holidays as assigned or as applicable based on department needs.
