This full time role is ideal for an IV Certified LPN with inpatient experience who is passionate about delivering high quality care to medicine patients. You'll care for a variety of patients with complex medical needs, work closely with a supportive interdisciplinary team, and grow your clinical skills in a fast paced, learning-rich environment. Overview Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including IV management, utilizing the nursing process, under the supervision of the RN. Responsibilities Implements treatments and procedures within the scope of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in professional development and life long learning. Performs patient assessment and evaluation with regard to the patient‘s age and developmental needs. Assists in developing and updating the plan of care with regard to the patient‘s age and developmental needs. Implements plan of care with regard to the patient‘s age and developmental needs.
