We are looking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Clinical Support Team (float pool) unit in Ontario! This position is full-time night shift.

GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:

The LPN colleague (licensed) provides safe, quality health care services & assistance to patients+ under the supervision & direction of a registered nurse or other designated health care professional in accordance with level of experience, education, policies & procedures, and patients.

The LPN licensed role (direct or indirect); Provides nursing interventions & participates in the planning, implementation & evaluation of care

Performs delegated focused / holistic care autonomously according to care plan

Administers medication & carries out the therapeutic treatment within scope of license (state & TH policy)

Performs direct & essential care activities as part of an interdisciplinary team with a deeper understanding, including theoretical knowledge

Demonstrates a level of independence to perform activities with general oversight, through personal contributions, teamwork & initiatives to safely improve outcomes

Advocates for patient &  informs/counsels patients & families about illness & care details.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Licensed in the State of Idaho or Oregon – whichever is the employees primary work location - as a Practical Nurse (LPN) and as defined by the State Board of Nursing.

Basic Life Support for healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire. One year of LPN experience highly preferred.

Direct Care (patient facing environment):

Exposure to conditions which may be considered particularly disagreeable to sight, touch, sound, smell & tastes; Occasionally encounters fumes, odors, dusts, mists & gases, along with biohazards / hazards (mechanical, electrical, burns, chemicals, radiation, sharp objects, etc.); Occasionally subject to noise, infectious waste, diseases & conditions.

Includes continuous work time indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions; Worksites (e.g., patient homes) or travel to worksites; encounter frequent variable internal & external environmental conditions.

Includes the need to be physically & mentally capable to perform primary job functions & processes.

Includes work time that involves continuous physical efforts (e.g., transporting, moving, positioning & ambulating patients).

Includes daily activities that require continuous standing / walking with the ability to vary / adjust physical position or activity.

Includes frequent ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds unassisted, use upper & lower extremities, engage in frequent bending / stooping / reaching & pushing/pulling with occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, or operating foot controls.

Indirect Care:

Occasional to frequent clinical / patient facing work environment.

Includes continuous work time indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions; may encounter occasional variable external environmental conditions.

Includes infrequent lifting, up to 30 pounds unassisted, occasional travel & frequent use of computer; Includes frequent sitting & require occasional long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling & pushing.

May be subject to exposure to noise & occasional exposure to diseases / conditions or handling of infectious waste & hazardous chemicals

Direct / Indirect must be able to:

Adapt to frequent interruptions, shifting priorities & stressful situations; must be able to show compassion & kindness, demonstrate patience; Work on a variety of tasks/projects in physical or virtual environments that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.

Relate to & work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile customers. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel & the general public.

Read small print, continuously hear normal sounds & voice patterns, able to give / receive instructions & other verbal communications in-person & over the phone / computer / device / equipment assigned with some background noise.

Perform continuous manual dexterity activities & frequent grasping/handling.

Maintain a safe working environment & use available personal protective equipment (PPE).

Speak, read, & write the English language in an understandable manner.

Adjust to occasional work requests beyond normal working hours, weekends, alternate shifts (other than those originally hired for) & other position activities when necessary; Respond when called back during emergency conditions.
