Under the supervision of a registered nurse, this position administers direct care to an assigned group of patients. This position should know and utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing and evaluating health services and nursing care to the individual patient.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

Administers medications within the scope of practice and the hospital's policies and procedures.Communicates and collaborates with members of the healthcare team.Implements the patient's plan of care with all health care disciplines.Performs and assists with procedures in a cooperative and supportive manner.Plans, assesses and evaluates patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.Provides education to patient and family for information and health promotions purposes. Qualifications

Demonstrates clincial competence.Demonstrates good interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy in interacting with staff, clients, and the public.Good communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively with patient/family and all members of the healthcare team verbally and in writing.Ability to know and apply the nursing process to individual patient care.Ability to safely administer medication.Ability to communicate effectively with patient and family and all members of the healthcare team.Ability to be courteous, friendly, respectful, professional, confidential, prompt and efficient.Proficiency in the nursing process and medication administration.


EDUCATION

High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required1 Healthcare/Medical � LPN RequiredLicensed Practical NurseCertified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
