The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN demonstrates professional and clinical knowledge relative to designated clinical practice setting in the delivery of direct patient care, adhering to the level of verified competency dictated by the site-specific program. The LPN works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and communicate effectively with other licensed independent practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA) in collaboration while providing care and treatment for patients, clinical support and teaching for patient and family members, and adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing practice. LPN manages responsibilities of workload with accuracy, provides excellence in customer service, performs testing, medication administration and the implementation of nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care. The LPN serves as patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease.  The work of the LPN may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes.

Facility:

This department is an outpatient ambulatory facility. This facility is also a teaching facility in which the Providers are Residents and Attendings from our collaborating entity of Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Job Description: Lead Nurse of seven (7) subspecialty clinics (CHF, GYN, ENT, EWL, General Surgery, Podiatry, Urology), to include supervision of a Certified Medical Assistant team member, in which patients are checked in/vitals taken, orders carried out as per Providers/ verifying orders to administer medications and injections, assisting in procedures (pap smears, endometrial biopsies, colposcopies, cystoscopies, etc.), patient education/teaching, and discharge, to include scheduling of tests (cat scan, MRI, ultrasound, etc.). This is in addition to serving as a resource/being a part of a larger clinical team (RN’s, LPN’s, MA’s, and a NCP) that provides the aforementioned direct patient care and tasks for additional clinics, to include primary care/internal medicine, family medicine, and eight (8) subspecialties (Cards, Derm, Endocrine, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Neuro, Pulmonary, and Rheumatology).

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$19.04 - $31.73. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
