Primary Position Purpose:

The Trailer Theft Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of trailer theft incidents, including investigation, documentation, and recovery. This role focuses on minimizing financial losses related to theft, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining compliance with insurance requirements. The Specialist will have a strong background in logistics, risk management, and investigation, with a keen eye for detail and proactive problem-solving skills.

Position Functions:

·       Theft Incident Management

o   Investigate reported trailer theft incidents in coordination with carriers, law enforcement, and insurance providers.

o   Gather evidence, document incident details, and prepare comprehensive reports for internal review.

o   Maintain a database of theft incidents, tracking patterns and trends to improve security measures.

·       Theft Invoicing & Financial Recovery

o   Accurately process theft-related invoices, ensuring timely submission and resolution.

o   Collaborate with the Finance and Compliance teams to recover costs associated with stolen trailers.

o   Communicate with carriers regarding theft charges, recovery processes, and compliance requirements.

·       Compliance & Documentation

o   Ensure all theft incidents are documented in accordance with company policies and insurance guidelines.

o   Review carrier contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to theft prevention protocols.

o   Maintain up-to-date records of insurance claims, recovery efforts, and reimbursement outcomes.

·       Risk Mitigation & Prevention

o   Analyze theft data to identify high-risk areas, carriers, and routes, implementing preventative measures.

o   Recommend security enhancements and theft prevention strategies based on incident analysis.

o   Conduct training sessions for carriers on theft prevention best practices.

·       Cross-Functional Collaboration

o   Work closely with the Compliance Manager, Carrier Service Manager, and Planning Teams to align theft prevention efforts.

o   Partner with regional trailer managers to monitor trailer movement and identify potential security gaps.

o   Provide regular updates to senior management on theft trends, incident resolution, and financial impact.

·       Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.

·       Attend all in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives. Participate in such discussions by offering input and advice.

·       Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication, and expectations.
