Job Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS

Post secondary education in Materials Management or Supply Chain or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years related experience in a Materials roleMinimum 2 years experience in a Supervisory or Managerial role3 years Warehouse Management System experience (preferably Solidat)Familiar with automotive MRP systemsFully understands the working relationship between Inventory Control and MRPSupply Chain Experience (raw material, purchase component, outside processor suppliers)Strong Lean Manufacturing and process improvement experienceStrong knowledge in CTPAT requirements, compliance, and proceduresProficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Support business requirements evenings and weekends, when required

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibility for the following functions: Shipping Supervisor, Receiving Supervisor, Inbound shipments, Warehouse Transfers, Shunters, Warehouse Reports, Production Material Handlers and Yard Maintenance PersonnelSupervise and assist employees involved in above areas; ensure that their duties are carried out in a satisfactory and timely mannerEnsure that employees reporting to the Logistics Manager adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook and maintains employee performance in areas that include but are not limited to;Monitoring attendanceMonitor OvertimeMaintaining training recordsConducting regular and timely performance reviewsStaffing levelsDocumenting any other information that is relevant to the employee’s performanceAs requires, issuing progressive disciplineEnsure that Departmental and Companywide measurables are being metEstablish and adhere to Department budgetsCoordinate the movement of all trucks at all locations of Mytox Mfg. to ensure a smooth continuous flow of movementResponsible for window times and dock studiesMaximizes labour utilization within the shipping department and ensures that all shipments being made are 100% on time and accurateEnsure that all shipments are ready for pick up and if not Delivery Performance concern reports are being issued and followed up with appropriate Production personnel, the appropriate Scheduler and the Customer Service representativeApprove and at times prepare weekly OT Time Sheet Summaries for payroll Works with Purchasing to negotiate expedite and LTA costs with appropriate carriersImplement and maintain a Containerization policy to ensure that an inventory of customer returnable packaging is maintained as required Ensure that repairs are being carried out on returnable containers in a timely fashionArrange for the disposition of returnable containers at the end of a program’s cycle  Ensure that appropriate containers are being distributed to designated work cellsResponsible for the accuracy of Finished goods. Ensure that corrective and preventative actions are in place if the accuracy is below the goal.Champion forklift training, appraisals, competency, etc. for all DepartmentsEnsure that Continuous Improvement projects are in placeRecruit, interview etc. with the respect to the hiring of new departmental staff; liaise with Mytox Human Resources Department as applicablePrepare and maintains documentation/desk procedures specific to the Shipping Department positions.  This includes all CSI system-specific proceduresComplies and enforces OHSA (Material Handling, PPE, Lift Devices…etc) Perform regular safety workplace inspectionsConduct regular monthly safety talksBe involved with Accident/Investigation programTrain new employee of Job Specific HazardsCorrect unsafe acts or conditionsCommend or correct health and safety performanceResponsible for proper handling, storage and disposal of all chemicals, used materials and equipment.Responsible for Rental Trailer LogResponsible for Damaged Returnable Container Management LogAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
