Responsible for overseeing inventory audits and maintaining inventory at optimum levels. Develops procedures to enhance the effectiveness of inventory control programs. Coordinates with relevant departments to schedule, audit, and reconcile periodic physical inventories. Oversees incoming shipments of merchandise to ensure that inventory is accurate, updated and provided according to schedules. May review inventory activity and make recommendations for obsolescence. Leads a team of direct reports.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalentMust have a fork truck license5+ years of experienceTrain the trainer program completeCross training in all areas, expert skills in one area

Essential Functions, Knowledge and Competencies

Strong communication skills, able to alert immediate supervisor/coworkers of any problems with processes, counts, or work cell concernsMaintain a neat and orderly work areaMaintain and control accurate inventory counts (finished goods, raw materials, etc.)Aid purchasing team in communication with vendorsComplete PM tasks timely and ensure signed off in MC-ExpressProper handling of packages/finished goods/raw materials to prevent damage including washing parts prior to shipments/next processComplete daily shipments (inbound or outbound) to customers/vendors/suppliers following proper customer specificationCreate proper labels/bill of lading for shipments/packagesComplete system transactions including creating purchase orders, transfers, issuing and returning materials, closing work ordersComplete cycle counts when requiredOrder consumable supplies for work areaTrain employees as neededMaintain fork truck licenseOther duties assigned as needed

Responsibility/Authority

Authorized to stop a process upon the detection of a nonconformance or safety concernEnsure strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures including customer specification requirementsAdministers company policies and procedures relating to shipping/receiving/storage of equipment, supplies and materialsProactively lead logistics team to continuously improve processes and proceduresManage and implement all departmental functionsPerform employee reviews, coach and mentor logistics associates, set goals and objectives for logistics associatesInterview and hire new/potential logistics associatesPlan and schedule tasks over short and long-term periods and assign priorities for completionInteract with other departments including production, purchasing, customer service on material status and production planning concerns
