Logistics Specialist 2
Description We are looking for a skilled Logistics Specialist for a client in Kansas City, Kansas. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in coordinating the movement of materials and work processes to ensure production schedules are met efficiently. Your expertise in logistics, documentation, and compliance will be essential for maintaining smooth operations and meeting organizational goals. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and expedite the movement of materials between departments to meet production schedules. • Review and distribute production schedules, work orders, and shipment plans to ensure accurate execution. • Monitor work processes and inspect documents, materials, and products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications. • Record production data, including raw material usage, production volumes, and quality control metrics. • Analyze costs related to labor, manufacturing, and materials to maintain operational efficiency. • Requisition and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for production demands. • Maintain accurate documentation of client and production information, adhering to applicable laws and regulations. • Utilize computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, for tracking, reporting, and communication purposes. • Collaborate with personnel across departments to address staffing and material priorities. • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and procedures while optimizing logistics processes Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in logistics or related fields are a plus. • 2-4 years of relevant experience in logistics, production, or inventory management. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and analysis purposes. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders. • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities for ensuring operational accuracy. • Familiarity with shipping regulations, production schedules, and inventory management processes. • Experience in analyzing costs related to labor, materials, and manufacturing. • Ability to work with computer programs and applications relevant to logistics and production tracking.
