Logistics Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our organization's supply chain operations. This role is based in Memphis, Tennessee, and requires a dynamic leader who can drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and foster collaboration within the logistics team. Responsibilities: • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and service providers to ensure timely and reliable delivery performance. • Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence. • Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics processes through advanced analytics and automation. • Create and execute logistics plans that align with overarching business goals and objectives. • Lead and mentor the logistics team, fostering collaboration and addressing personnel issues in partnership with HR. • Implement and oversee logistics software systems, such as transportation management platforms and tracking technologies, to enhance efficiency and visibility. • Manage logistics budgets, analyze transportation expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards. • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety protocols, and environmental requirements, while managing necessary documentation for domestic and international shipments. • Assess potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in supply chain operations. • Coordinate domestic and occasional international travel, contributing to the seamless execution of logistics operations. Requirements • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis. • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities. • Excellent communication skills for creating reports, delivering presentations, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. • Proven customer service orientation with a focus on meeting client needs. • Adaptability and attention to detail in dynamic work environments. • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field (or 10 years of relevant logistics experience in lieu of a degree). • At least 5 years of domestic logistics experience, including carrier negotiations and team leadership. • Knowledge and expertise in logistics systems, supply chain coordination, and global logistics operations.
