GovCIO is currently hiring for Logistics Engineer to provide asset management, procurement, and logistical support. This position will be located in Fayetteville NC and will be an oniste position.
ResponsibilitiesProvides support to the logistics function, preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. Develops requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts, and related manuals; tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; reviews configuration changes to evaluate the impact on logistics deployment; documents equipment, component, and parts conditions; and identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, and technical manuals to support lifecycle of the product. Assists in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support. Plans and contributes to proposal efforts. Sources, negotiates, and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for the operation of an organization. Monitors and selects suppliers based on performance and other factors. Compiles and analyzes information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Identifies opportunities to leverage material acquisitions. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Selects vendors and service providers. Responsible for following up with orders. Prepares for requests for quotes, request for proposals, bid packages, and purchase orders. May have a purchase card and be responsible for conducting reconciliations of purchases.
Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from the conceptual stage through the life-cycle of the productDevelops and implements program activities, coordinates efforts of subcontractors, production departments, and field service personnel to ensure meeting of contractual commitmentsCompiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics activitiesDetermines logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from the location of the operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnelDevelops and initiates preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistics supportMaintains detailed records of goods and services ordered and receivedIdentifies and reports specifications for issuing and awarding bids to supervisorLocates vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and consults with them in order to determine product availability and terms of salesRepresents the Company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliersResearches and selects suppliersMay conduct interviews to obtain more information on supplier services, products, and operations QualificationsHigh School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCIPsossess a valid and current U. S. Pasport and Driver s License.Experience and demonstrated ability with Developing purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for various specialized supplies and equipment.
Experience with military air movement processes
Inventory tools such as integrated RFID technology
Experience with Command Supply Discipline Program
Experience and demonstrated ability with Property Book Management, Supply, and Logistic Ordering Systems, Logistic Budgeting operation, Direct Shipment Management Operations, and Proper Inventory Operation
Experience and demonstrated ability with Government Services Administration and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation SupplementPreferred Skills and Experience
Experience supporting Special Operations
Forklift operations experience
Experience and demonstrated ability to communicate with Director level stakeholders
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor, and chemical/biological protective garmentsMedically/Physically fit for deployment with U. S. Posted Pay Range
