**Job Title:** Logistics Engineer
**Salary:** £39,900 – £48,000 depending on experience
**Location:** Desford, Leicestershire
**Contract** : Full time & permanent
**The Opportunity**
As a **Logistics Engineer** , you will implement and continuously improve all logistics processes to maximise efficiency and productivity.
**What you will do:**
As a **Logistics Engineer** , you are accountable for, but not limited to:
+ Applying process improvement tools and assisting with the implementation of efficient and competitive logistics solutions.
+ Coordinating with operations functions to define critical parameters and develop plans for process control and improvements.
+ Maintaining the internal logistics process engineering standards, knowledge, and tools; Assuring their implementation in current and new operations.
+ Evaluating logistics processes and workflows, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for process-related concerns.

**What You Can Demonstrate:**
**Level Basic Understanding:**
+ **Lean Manufacturing:** Talks about the main ideas of lean manufacturing and simple ways to spot waste in processes. Shares real-life examples of where lean worked well or didn’t, and the good and bad results that came from it.
**Level Working Knowledge:**
+ **Planning:** Tactical, Strategic: Helps create short-term work plans and adjusts when things change. Tracks progress, reports any issues, and makes changes as needed with support.
+ **Collaborating:** Works well with others to solve problems and reach shared goals. Helps set up team meetings, supports clear communication, and encourages teamwork across different groups.
+ **Warehouse Management:** Handles basic warehouse tasks like receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping items. Helps keep equipment in good shape, tracks performance, and supports improvements in warehouse systems and tools.
**What You May Have:**
+ **SAP Warehouse Management Systems (SAP WMS)** : Has hands-on experience using SAP WMS in warehouse and logistics operations. Understands supply chain processes well and can adjust SAP tools to improve performance and solve problems quickly.
