JOB SUMMARY:

· The Import/Export Logistics Coordinator will play a key role in the delivery of our final product to our customers and ensure we are meeting and exceeding our commitments. This individual will be responsible for full life cycle of domestic and international logistics operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop proposals and request quotes for logistics operations.Make and execute decisions regarding delivery needs of customer orders.Understand the import/export trade process and make decisions accordingly.Responsible for scheduling pick-ups and deliveries.Responsible for packing, auditing, weighing, and labelling all shipments.Coordinate with internal and external customers to ensure all documentation is obtained and government and corporate compliance regulations followed.Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on shipping processes to internal customers.Review logistics performance with customers/suppliers based on targets, benchmarks, and service agreements.Research the best value (cost, schedule, quality, and safety) shipping modes while minimizing risks.Follow established policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control and make recommendations for policy and procedure changes.Manage relationships with transportation providers, vendors, Customer Service, and others to help resolve shipping issues.Analyze logistics operational processes and recommend changes for potential improvements.Other warehouse duties as assigned, including inventorying and picking orders.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.

Minimum of 2 years` experience in International Transportation is required.Export/Import order processing knowledge, including compliance and export documentationEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to use computers programs to update inventory, compile reports and basic Excel knowledgeCritical thinking and problem solving skillsAttention to detail and organizational skills a must

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with international logistics (shipping, receiving, transportation, and brokerage) is highly preferredIntermediate understanding of logistics and interest in advancing their knowledgeAbility to lift up to 50lbs, stand, bend, or reachForklift experience and active license preferredDetail orientedWilling to take initiatives and problem-solving mindset independently as well as with teamsPossess effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.Applicants are expected to have the ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Ability to effectively team with othersAbility to travel up to 10%.Additional responsibilities as assigned.
