Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to add to our Customer Services Amtrak Team. The right person will be highly organized, have great attention to detail and excellent communication and follow-up skills. The candidate will assist in process development and maintenance, continuous improvement activities, and operations support. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast paced, fluid environment, while ensuring that project initiatives are met. This person will assist the engineering and planning group in material-related issues and oversee warehouse activities throughout the project. This person will also build customer relationships through day-to-day interaction. This role will work a hybrid work scheduled in the Washington DC facility.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Ensure safe working environment.Expedite material demand for Field Modification (FMI) materials.Kitting of FMI materials to distribute to the field sites. Coordinate delivery of FMI materials in accordance with the event start date. Operational oversight of material and logistics for assigned project.Work with customers for day-to-day activities. Coordinate with CS Material Planner and Central Warehouse for continued flow of standard fulfillment, emergency material needs and other material/logistics requirements.Perform transactions in SAP/Salesforce/SharePoint as required.Assist customer with inventory cycle count activities.Communicate shipment progress/movement and other equipment related matters in a consistent and timely manner.

To thrive in this role, you have:

High School Diploma / GED Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in material coordination.Strong experience in various MS Office applications (Excel, Access, PPT, Word, TEAM’s, Power BI, etc.) Minimum of 1+ year SAP experience.Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.Excellent customer service skills.The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and safety.Ability to travel: Approx. 10%Setting you apart from others would be an associate or bachelor's degree with management experience.  The preferred candidate will have experience in the railway industry or corresponding experience in a related field.  Experience in managing conflicting metrics such as transportation cost and material availability for example and familiarity with LEAN and Six Sigma concepts is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $71,900.00 - $84,500.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
