The Logistics Coordinator will work within a dynamic team of six, including a transportation manager, dispatch manager, and dispatchers. The role involves managing the order book and service hauler base for an assigned territory or region. The Coordinator is responsible for receiving orders, assembling logistics plans, scheduling the delivery of construction and non-construction materials, and soliciting new business opportunities. Ensuring timely delivery of correct products and quantities, maintaining records of daily production orders, and processing accounts payable and receivable are key responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves attracting and maintaining hauler/carrier relationships and managing hauler files.
ResponsibilitiesReceive orders via email, phone, or internal messaging system.Enter orders into an internal proprietary system, processing 25 to 30 orders per day.Ensure accuracy and completeness of logistics and material orders.Procure sufficient carriers to fulfill all delivery obligations.Maintain exceptional service levels through sustained customer contact.Communicate effectively with the construction aggregate order management group, sales, and operations manager.Prepare and maintain delivery data, reports, and records of daily production orders.Solicit new orders/business that complements the daily logistics plan.Maintain and improve process efficiencies.Conduct job site visits to interact with customer contacts and carriers.Conduct quarterly quarry reviews with stakeholders.Negotiate rates with carriers and potential dump sites.Develop annual territory plans and conduct annual carrier reviews.
Essential SkillsExperience in order entry (no particular system experience required).Strong customer service skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Punctuality and flexibility, particularly during busy seasons.
Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground in transportation or dispatching.Knowledge of the trucking industry.
Work Environment
The position is based in a corporate office environment, operating from 7am to 5pm, five days a week. The headquarters serves the Southeast region and the team consists of a transportation manager, dispatch manager, and dispatchers. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring mandatory overtime during the busy season from May to November. Each team member is provided with a large desk and dual monitor screens to facilitate efficiency.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
