Logistics Coordinator
Description We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a critical role in managing oil logistics, ensuring seamless operations, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will excel in problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment. This is a 5/5/4 schedule, 6AM-6PM. Responsibilities: • Verify and reconcile tickets and oil barrel records, ensuring accurate documentation of load times and tank levels. • Utilize software tools such as Excel and logistics platforms to maintain precise data entry and reporting. • Coordinate truck assignments for oil pickups, prioritizing schedules based on tank levels and capacity requirements. • Maintain constant communication with truck drivers, field teams, and internal departments to address delays and operational challenges. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reported data, such as recovered barrel counts, and identify areas for process improvement. • Collaborate with sales teams, trucking companies, and field operations to meet customer needs and prevent tank overflow issues. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and prepare accurate records for audits and monthly reporting. • Identify inefficiencies within logistical operations and propose strategies to optimize processes and reduce costs. • Support team efforts by facilitating smooth communication across departments to achieve organizational goals. Requirements • Strong knowledge of oil logistics, trucking, and inventory management. • Exceptional attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and error resolution. • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors. • Proven problem-solving abilities to address logistical challenges and improve efficiency. • Proficiency in logistics software and tools such as Excel, CRM, and ERP systems. • Experience in dispatching and coordinating logistics operations in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work long shifts reliably and maintain consistency under pressure. • Spanish language proficiency is a plus for effective communication in diverse settings.
