Logistics Coordinator
Description We are looking for a highly organized and meticulous Logistics Coordinator to join our team outside of Richmond, Va. This is a Contract-to-Long-Term position, providing a fantastic opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding manufacturing company. The role is based onsite and offers consistent hours, with the guarantee of a pay increase upon transitioning to a long-term role. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and manage outbound shipments, including domestic and international deliveries, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation. • Obtain competitive shipping quotes by working closely with freight brokers and carriers. • Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including customs paperwork when necessary, to ensure compliance. • Monitor and track shipments, promptly resolving any delays or issues with delivery. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records in the company’s logistics system. • Provide proactive communication to customers about order statuses, shipment tracking, and delivery timelines. • Address customer inquiries and resolve logistics-related concerns in a thorough and timely manner. • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to prioritize and meet shipping deadlines. • Work with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing and availability of inventory for shipments. • Offer input on customer orders, including special delivery instructions and scheduling requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or distribution roles. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Preferably experience with NetSuite. • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple shipments and priorities effectively. • Experience with coordinating domestic and international logistics, including customs documentation. • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams. • Familiarity with logistics systems and software for maintaining accurate shipping records. • Problem-solving skills to address and resolve delivery delays or customer concerns. • Proficiency in obtaining competitive shipping quotes and managing cost-effective transportation. • Knowledge of freight brokerage and carrier coordination processes.
