Logistics Associate - Forklift Operator, Day Shift

Ecolab, the leading global developer of premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking a contract Logistics Associate, Afternoon.  In this contract role you will be responsible for a variety of assigned duties, including order picking and/or packing, order processing and other logistics support roles.

What You Will Do: 

Manually pick full-case orders and stack them onto pallets using a scanner/tabletEnsure proper staging and identification once an order has been completely pickedUse various pieces of equipment (manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, reach truck, and propane lift) to move palletsVerify quantities, quality of items and proper labeling of products that are being shippedExamine all packaging and contents of items for conformance to customer specifications and verify all information against the packing list and SAPCoordinate with other departments such as customer service, production, instant and small packShipping box assemblyShipping box induction for packingShipping label preparation and applicationTrailer loading of packed boxes and palletsIdentify items with a quantity discrepancy and promptly communicate with Supervisor and/or LeadMaintain the 5S cleanliness of the picking area and pull completed shrink-wrapped orders to the dock for LTL packersFollow all safety procedures and policiesFollow all warehouse procedures and policies

Position Details:

The main work location for this position will be Mississauga (Tomken Rd./Eglinton Ave.).Periodically, the role will be required to work at the Mississauga (Tranmere Dr./Drew Rd.) location, based on business requirementsCandidate must reside in: Greater Toronto AreaWork week and shift: Day Shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday to Friday. Periodically, you may be scheduled for the afternoon shift, based on business requirementsContract: This is a 12-month contract

Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma or G.E.D. required3 years logistics experience3 years reach lift fork truck experienceFork truck certification or ability to be certifiedMust be able to accurately perform basic mathematical calculationsMust be able to follow both written and verbal directionsNo immigration sponsorship is available for this role

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications:        

Previous experience in a warehouse environment performing shipping and/or receiving responsibilitiesBe able to properly utilize a manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, reach lift and/or sit-down forkliftA minimal level of analytical ability is required Strong communication skills and team work
