Main job purpose
To oversee and control the entire Logistics and Warehouse operation through the effective management and utilisation of all resources, required to optimise the efficiency of the warehouse and warehouse systems, thereby ensuring excellent service delivery, safety of warehouse staff and business continuity.
Main Objective
To ensure 100% accurate and timeous delivery of all operations reports and provide accurate information for budget purposes. To monitor and control expenditure against budget for maintenance, transport costs, overtime, etc. for the operations department to minimise variances. To take overall responsibility for the Warehouse systems and processes, thereby ensuring overall data integrity and customer satisfaction relating to ARG’s product and service delivery. To continuously improve efficiencies in the warehouse by identifying and implementing best practices to drive business results. To maintain stock accuracy and reduce quality issues by ensuring 99.5% inventory accuracy through overall management of perpetual stock counts with corrective action plans (right stock at the right time in the right location). To accurately manage risk to ensure optimal service delivery and customer satisfaction. To oversee all site maintenance, repairs and security through the effective management of relevant service providers to ensure business functionality. To cultivate and instill a culture of commitment through meaningful engagement and building constructive relationships with Shop Stewards (and other shop floor employees) in order to achieve and maintain a healthy IR working environment. To optimise the warehouse through the effective utilisation of resources and management of inventory control in order to control risk (e.g. damages and safety) and ensure that the business delivers via the 3PL Service Provider the right product in the right quantity at the right time in order to satisfy the customer. To liaise and build effective working relationship with key stakeholders; including suppliers and customers; in order to improve supplier efficiencies and quality as well as ensure overall customer satisfaction. To ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business. To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business.
Critical job requirements
