Position Summary:

Provides support for all Customized logistics activities. Supports the Regional Logistics Manager, Carrier Operations for administering the freight-sheltered income program while ensuring timely delivery of shipments. In addition, enlists and qualifies various carriers and manages the claims and pallet recovery programs. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.Position Responsibilities:Planning, Optimizing and Execution for all outside carrier loads / orders.Uses MS Excel to analyze and breakdown data for customer usage, item cost, shipping unit cost (LBs / Cube / Pallet) and identify opportunities and issues that need to be addressed.  Handles daily operational tasks and communication with carriers, shipping locations, purchasing team and PFG distribution center staff.Review daily purchase orders to build optimal consolidations to achieve maximum revenue.Works with purchasing team to address issues with orders, loads, supply or transit time days to ensure optimal order cycles, in stock product and profitability balance is maintained. Identifies differences in KPI’s versus prior year and breaks down and communicates what is causing the differences.Files freight claims for Overages, Shortages and Damages (OS&D) as needed.  Processes, investigates, documents, and communicates issues as needed.  Provides status on collections, if necessary.Conducts vendor reviews to assess the possibility of pick-ups and collects information on the new pick-up locations and facilities.Maintains shipping location data.Provides quotes for purchasing and national accounts for movement of goods as needed. Analyzes data for all shipments to provide insights into trends, issues or successes to be communicated and/or replicated across the system.Performs other related duties as assigned.
