The Opportunity:
As our Logistics Administrator, will organize and coordinate all transport (rail, ship, and truck) and logistical requests for the delivery of all types of equipment to Ritchie Bros.’ customers and our auction facilities.
You are the first point of contact for customer service queries and issues related to equipment inventory. You will accurately administer shipping and receiving documentation related to the movement of the equipment to and from the yard of the auction site. You have a broad administrative job in which you will get acquainted with all sorts of documents regarding to customs, gate pass, payment invoices, transport, taxes, etc.
In This Role, You Will:
Ensure that our customers receive a tailored solution that best fits their transportation needs, including offering different transport solutions where applicable.
Monitor the progression of transport, advise the customers on agreed logistical milestones, and ensure transport is running to schedule.
Instruct carrier agents and supervise the logistical activities, actions to be taken as well as the results concerning the transportation requirements.
Ensuring the selected freight management system is correctly monitored and updated when required, including the effective and timely communication verbally and in writing between the different departments and our Logistics providers on all transports that are arranged.
Building a brand, understand the importance of local customer service to grow the business globally.
Process documentation within our internal systems (e.g., SaleSite, AS/400, etc.
Accurately identify equipment serial numbers
Record basic equipment descriptions and label the equipment correctly.
Provide assistance as required to the DEI Team.
Promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees and customers is top priority for all.
Liaise with on-site contractors to support customers needs for repair and services.

You have 2 years of relevant working experience in a transportation planning role.Experience in shipping industrial equipment is considered a strong asset.A solid knowledge of construction equipment and trucks.
Negotiation skills: part of the business is convincing others to go in a certain way. Not only pushing other people in the way you like them to go but finding a common cause and earning trust.
Good working knowledge and experience using MS Office Suite products (e.g. Word, Excel)
An aptitude for data/numbers and some experience creating and working with spreadsheets.
Professional level English, both written and verbal.It’s important to note that:
You'll maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.This is not an “8:00AM to 5:00PM” job. As an event-driven company, overtime is a significant part of what we do.
