The main responsibility of LOD 2 Credit Risk Underwriter is execution, measuring, monitoring and analyzing credit risk with a certain level of authority and validating ratings, oversight of credit process, credit scoring.
For credit origination, the LOD 2 Credit Risk Underwriter is responsible for:
• Reviewing, challenging and approving credit decisions for files within Local LOD 2 delegations. As such, the underwriter makes the final decision for files within the local LOD 2 authority and over credit analyst
LOD 1 signing authority, as defined in the delegation letter.
• If a credit decision is above their authority, they prepare the file to be sent to local LOD 2 Credit Risk manager or Risk and Compliance Director, to SG RISQ or PCRU according to the different requirements described in the delegation letter and customers characteristics.
• Validating ratings performed by LOD 1 Credit Risk used during the credit assessment for non-retail exposures regardless of the delegation.
For data analysis purposes the LOD 2 Credit Risk Underwriter is responsible for:
• In a risk monitoring and control function, to oversight of the scoring and rating rules being applied by the first line of defense and providing oversight of the whole credit process, as well as contributing to the monitoring of the portfolio concerning early warning indicators, watchlists and default.
• In a risk reporting function, to be able to prepare the information and data relevant which guarantees the proper oversight and control on the main LOD2 credit risk activities.
Required expertise:
- Relevant University degree (Bachelor/Masters level) e.g. in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics. Candidates with higher education on Credit risks topics, combined with adequate knowledge of the financial sector will also be considered.
- Knowledge about Credit risks including a very good understanding of current requirements in Credit risks management and governance.
- Strong financial analysis and accounting capabilities.
- Previous experience in a comparable role in the financial services sector (over 3 years).
- Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

- Regularly communicate information that is timely, relevant, and tailored to each audience. This includes being transparent about both positive and negative developments.
- Ability to manage diverse work and overlapping priorities, in an efficient and pragmatic way.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to identify problems and most importantly propose risk mitigants.
- Process and detail orientation, rigorous.
- Team player and good at managing relationships with Credit Risk LOD1 and also Commercial area.
- Delivering results.
