We have an immediate opening for a Lock Out Tag Out Technician at our aerospace location in Rockford, ILL. The primary focus of this role is to implement and manage the organization's lockout/tagout program to ensure the safety of employees when servicing or maintaining equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

Develop procedures, train employees, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.Develop, maintain, and update LOTO procedures for all applicable equipment and processes.Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147, NFPA70(e) and other relevant safety regulationsCreate written LOTO procedures and ensuring that they are maintained up-to-date. All LOTO procedures must be made readily available to Affected, Authorized, and Laboratory Safety personnel.Ensure that Affected and Authorized individuals receive LOTO training as specified in this policy AND are following all written LOTO procedures at all times with no deviation from written procedures during actual work. 

Work Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education and experience:

HS Diploma/GED with 5-7 years’ experience OR associate degree in a skilled trade with 3-5 years’ experience in OSHA Safety.Data collection and documentation experience.Demonstrated experience developing metrics, data mining, and database managementDemonstrated experience with MS Office suite of programs. Demonstrated ability to differentiate colors pertaining LOTO proceduresExcellent oral and written communication skillsUnderstanding of and ability to contribute to / follow a safety plan and proceduresDue to the nature of the work, you must be a US Citizen

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.Typical 40 hours weeks plus lunch / core (required) hours / General shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pmAbility to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.Able to regularly lift to 50 lbsFlexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shiftAble to regularly kneel repetitive for shiftAble to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shiftAble to walk extensively throughout the plant during shiftWear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and ear protectionCope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $31.00 DOE
