Our employees are at the forefront of safety and innovation; they create and implement the most advanced training and technology the transportation industry has to offer.** Provides support, direction, and leadership to the Para-transit operations center team for all HR related matters. $80,000 - $85,000/year + Job Description **Major Responsibilities** + Provides leadership and guidance to para-transit operations in the areas of dispute resolution, labor relations, policy compliance, and interpretation, leadership development, leave management, FLSA/compensation, new business start-ups and closings, and other people-related matters. + Maintains favorable and effective employee and labor relations with regular visibility and communication with assigned locations. + Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company HR policies and applicable laws and regulations. + Conducts investigations for Hotline complaints, federal and state agency complaints, and internal or external audits, and provides coaching for location and regional managers on the fair and appropriate handling of such matters. + Provides advice and counsel to employees on a variety of workplace issues and policy interpretation while protecting the company’s interest to reinforce and comply with policies. + Works with his/her manager and the region’s labor counsel on grievance handling in locations where unions exist. + Works with the Talent/recruiting department on hiring initiatives, especially recruiting associated with new business acquisition. + Conducts training programs that address the company’s needs, such as performance management, employee relations and a variety of employment laws. + Develops employee engagement and action planning in partnership with para-transit operations centers to improve employee relations throughout the organization. + Facilitates the implementation of corporate initiatives and, where applicable, monitors and reports the results of those initiatives. **Minimum Education or Certifications Required** + High school diploma or equivalent + Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent experience. **Minimum Experience or Skills Required** + Minimum 3-5 years of diverse HR experience with broad knowledge of employment law, FLSA/ compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, labor relations, and training and development. + Good administrative skills and superior interpersonal skills. + Multi-facility experiences desired. + Skilled in oral and written communications. + Computer literate. + Confidentiality and discretion required; excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly in personnel management; strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software; strong attention to detail. + Problem solving and analytical abilities. + Ability to verbally communicate with passengers, Drivers, Dispatchers and Road Supervisors including use of a 2-way radio and PA system effectively. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. + Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. + Ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and public. + Work extended hours regularly, including weekends and holidays to meet the business needs. + Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. + Possess working vehicle to travel within service area as needed. **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions** + Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone. + Must be able to drive company or personal vehicle to review driver performance, meet clients, and for other company related purposes. + Must be able to: + Use full range of hearing, speech, and vision + Use fingers (manual dexterity) handling paperwork + Stoop, crouch, squat, or kneel when performing duties + Bend at knee, hip, waist when performing duties + Stand when performing duties + Sit for long periods of time when performing duties + Be subject to wet, cold, or hot environmental conditions + Write reports in a coherent, legible way **Disclaimer** Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
