**About the Role**
The localization team seeks an experienced technical program manager (TPM) to expand our Localization Operations (LocOps) team. In this role, you will be focusing on the Client and vendor technology integration through our translation piple and operationalize end to end content delivery. You will also be collaborating with localization, internationalization teams, and tech vendors. You will coordinate with the ML/AI team and various product managers to streamline integration, elevating translation quality and productivity. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting tool-related issues and backing the localization team. Serving as a liaison between the localization program management team, the localization experience program team, multiple stakeholders, and tech vendors, you will optimize localization tools and processes sufficiently meet all functionality, efficiency, and scalability requirements. An ideal candidate should hold technical skills to solve complex problems and devise scalable solutions to build and execute the tech programs. Effective relationship management, technical acumen, and a collaborative mindset are fundamental for this role.

01. Assist the localization operation team by maintaining the efficient operation of all translation pipelines and tools. Debug tools embedded in Perl and Python scripts and verify that no translation projects are left pending in the pipeline.
02. You will require to utilize, develop, and optimize tools and processes compatible with a vendor-neutral model. This implies that all tools and processes established, proposed, and implemented for the Uber translation pipeline should remain neutral.
03. Define, manage, and maintain localization tools and processes. You should also be capable of identifying inefficiencies and optimizing for scalability and efficiency.
04. Act as the primary contact for all Client and Vendor relationships, particularly regarding localization tools and integrations and build on-demand services or tools if needed to scale the problems
05. Maintain and update machine translation models and glossaries continuously to improve translation quality for both real-time and on-demand translations.
06. Collaborate closely with translation vendors to address any issues concerning translation projects, thereby ensuring improvements in overall integration..
07. Develop & maintain key relationships with stakeholder and the localization team
08. As a Technical Program Manager, your responsibilities will include documenting every element of the scripts and tools that you create.
09. Collect requirements about the necessary localization tools and quality control processes from Localization Program Managers (LPgMs) and Localization Experience Program Managers (LXPMs). Subsequently, partner with Internationalization Engineering to drive requirements.
10. Capable of writing scripts and maintaining codes for operational tools.
11. Author and/or review PRDs related to Tools and Systems that improve globalization (g11n) across Uber.
12. Work closely with PMs/Engineers on product roll-outs, tool improvements/automation, and tech planning
\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----
01. BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent with some coding experience with mathematics, or a related field
02. 2 years of localization operations experience in the high-tech industry on the client side
03. 1 year of experience in a machine-learning role from a previous position.
04. Understand scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Java, and SQL
05. Proven track record in streamlining complex processes and improving workflow efficiency
06. Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently and be able to chart the direction of projects
07. Strong analytical and problem- solving experience, coupled with excellent business judgment
08. Great negotiation skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
09. Very detail-oriented, quality-focused and proactive in solving problems
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders across businesses and leadership levels
11. Self-directed - you need to take the initiative in tackling large problems head- on

Experience using CAT tools as an LPgM/LQPgM to manage our localization pipeline & workflows (e.g. Phrase, Smartling, Idiom WorldServer, and Trados) is a plus

1. You are fluent in languages other than English
2. Have experience in development or a background working as a TPM in localization in a previous role.
3. Knowledge of Phrase/Memsource, MT, LLM/GenAI is a huge plus
