Local Fundraising and Marketing Manager

Key Responsibilities:

The Marketing and Local Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing and executing local fundraising and marketing strategies to support World Vision Zambia’s mission. The role focuses on building partnerships with individuals, corporates, and philanthropic organizations, managing donor engagement, and leading effective fundraising campaigns. The manager also provides leadership and capacity building to the team, ensuring strong performance and alignment with World Vision’s values and goals.

Local fundraising strategy and campaign development

 Develop the local fundraising and marketing strategy and plan in consultation with the Resource Acquisition and Communications Director and Senior leadership team to maximize on local funding opportunities.Identify fundraising campaign ideas and other fundraising opportunities for WVZL and identify ways to creatively make them happen.Marketing and fundraising mechanisms established and functionalBuild and maintain individual based marketing and fundraising mechanisms.Engage in building relationships with corporates and philanthropy organizations to invite them to participate in and contribute to World Vision’s mission.Develop a well-established platform for maintaining donors engaged and committed to their promises and ensure donor care.Build and maintain new profitable, long-term fundraising relationships with corporate and potential corporate sponsors.Ensure the external marketing and communication is done with professionalism and accuracy.Work towards accomplishment of set funding targets by obtaining funds, in-kind donations or volunteer teams.Ensure update is provided on regular bases to the donors and other partners involved.Implement a donor cultivation and care strategy using mail, phone and personal meetings with donors.Manage key accounts from creation, day to day correspondence up to complete follow-up of any donation activity.Build relationships with other Partners in the NGO, Marketing, and Social Impact community Become an active participant in the NGO, social impact, and marketing community in Zambia.

Leadership and Capacity building
Provide strong Servant Leadership to the Local Fundraising and Marketing Team. Lead, Encourage, Support, Coach and Mentor the team ensuring capacity is built and appropriate results are achieved. Coaching the team on WVI values, vision, mission and working principles as efficient and best as possible in the framework of WVZL mission and National Strategy.

Manage the recruitment process and staff performance that are in the direct supervision (in coordination with P&C).Support professional and personal development of staff through on-the-job coaching, identification of learning and training needs and opportunities.Ensure competent and motivated staff are hired and retained.Ensure staff’s compliance with World Vision’s policies.Ensure conflicts among department supervisors/subordinates) are being handled/solved properly.Establish clear standards of performance for all staff reporting to the position.
Contribute to and support program activities that enrich and develop spiritual growth of staff.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

Degree in Marketing, Business or Management Business development, account management, marketing, and social marketing. Master’s Degree is preferable.At least 5 years of experience in related field at management level.Significant business experience within Sales, Marketing or/ and significant social marketing experienceAt least 5 years in marketing management experience or related fields.Experience in staff managing, monitoring and developing.Good knowledge of the NGO sector.Good understanding of World Vision’s Core Values and Mission Statement
