The PHL LCN Specialist is responsible for the assessment, configuration, and maintenance of local communications networks (LCNs) at PMSP sites. This role is crucial for integrating LCN components with surveillance systems such as radar, AIS, and EO/IR. The specialist also provides input for equipment procurement, installation, and sustainment planning.
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct assessments, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of local communications networks across PMSP sites.
+ Assist in integrating LCN components with surveillance systems, including radar, AIS, EO/IR, and COP platforms.
+ Collaborate with ICT/OT, HF/VHF, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, stable, and efficient communications.
+ Contribute to the planning and recommendation of equipment procurement, installation, and long-term sustainment.
+ Provide training and technical guidance to GPH personnel on LCN operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
+ BS in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field.
+ Possesses over 5 years of direct experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of Local Communication Networks (LCNs), ensuring operational readiness and system reliability.
+ Familiarity with maritime and coastal surveillance communications infrastructure in the Philippines, including knowledge of existing systems, networks, and technologies used for vessel monitoring, radar, AIS (Automatic Identification System), and related communication platforms.
+ In-depth knowledge of HF/VHF/UHF radio systems, including their configuration, operation, and maintenance for maritime and coastal surveillance applications.
+ Ability to provide technical support, conduct system diagnostics, and recommend solutions for optimizing communications infrastructure performance
