Loan Operations Specialist

Overview

This role provides support and assistance with the administration of various loan-related software programs, reconciling of internal accounts, and performing escrow related functions. This position includes handling customer requests and servicing existing loan accounts.
Responsibilities
+ Assists with the administration and accuracy of data input within loan related software and websites.
+ Inputs loan information and completes maintenance in the bank core operating software.
+ Performs checkback of loan data entry to ensure integrity of entries and information stored in the bank’s core operating system; this may include note maintenance checkback, file documentation reviews, and compliance reviews.
+ Creates timely reconcilements for several crucial general ledger and internal Demand Deposit Accounts (“DDA”).
+ Processes loan payments.
+ Assists with the servicing of existing loan account relationships such as:
+ Participations
+ Secondary Market loans
+ Swap loan transactions
+ Letters of Credit
+ Charged-off loans and Other Real Estate Owned (“OREO”)
+ Assists with performing escrow functions which may include:
+ Monitoring payment dates for insurance and taxes;
+ Updating tax and insurance amounts in the core operating system;
+ Producing and mailing loan-related customer checks;
+ Reconciling related accounts.
+ Handles incoming telephone calls and email requests from customers.
+ Assists with miscellaneous filing and document imaging.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Post high school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
+ In addition to education in business or a related field, prefer 6 months to 1 year of experience in a loan operations-related role.
+ Banking or financial experience is also preferred.
